We have chosen the Crystal of the Month for January to be Rose Quartz.

Rose Quartz is often called “The Love Stone” because of its emotional healing properties. It is associated with forgiveness and compassion and can create a wonderful calming influence. It is soft and delicate inspiring feelings of love and friendship. Rose quartz is aid to help remove repressed anger and hatred and is said to remove negative influences such as jealousy and avarice. It is said to aid the spleen, kidneys and circulation system. Rose quartz also eases sexual and emotional imbalance and can also improve fertility. It makes a lovely gift as it is a symbol of love.

Molly Harrison was born in 1968 in Berkeley, California and grew up not far from there in a small coastal town and artist community. When talkin about her home town Molly says “Its unmatched beauty and charm is imbedded in my heart and soul, and though I live in the valley now, I can still taste the salty air that is forever in my heart.”

Here is a paragraph taken from Mollys Biography.

“I am a wife and a mother of two beautiful children. My experience in art comes from many places. Art is part of my family, I can remember sitting by my grandfather in his studio watching his hand gracefully float over the page. His barns, boats, fields, and animals kept me (and still keep me) in complete awe. And he would give me paper and paint and patiently let me try. My parents , husband, and friends have always encouraged me which I am forever grateful. Art is something that comes from deep within. But it is important to be encouraged by people around us. I am a true believer that if one is allowed to be creative, the spirit will have hope, happiness, and passion.

Being forever inspired by mystique and myth, I have somewhat unintentionally chosen the fantasy world of faeries and other mythical beings as my way of embracing the world of art. I use mainly watercolor and ink as my medium of choice, but I don’t like to be limited. I have been awe struck by beautiful fantasy masterpieces as far back as I can remember; so I guess this is where I belong. People ask why fantasy art? It’s just what I love I guess. I believe that there is more than meets the eye in just about everything, and that includes our world. The mystique in history, legends, and fairytales is something that keeps us searching, keeps us growing, and sort of ties us all together. All art is a form of expression, whether it be symbolic or straightforward. I am definitely an emotive artist which can be good and bad and I’ll just leave it at that. I am still searching my heart and hand for that one masterpiece, and maybe when I’m 90 (if I’m so lucky) I’ll find it. Until then, this is a fantastic journey that I’ll endure.

One of my main inspirations, besides nature, spirit and soul, has been children’s books. I find the soft, lightheartedness in many of the works of art out there soul quenching. With the birth of my daughter (in 1998) and then my son (in 2002), I was reunited with the magic and hominess of storybooks”

This simple spell works best under a full moon, but if necessary can be performed at any time. Check the moon phase on the home page of our site.

Items you will need:

3 Blue Candles
Piece of Paper
Blue Pen

Draw a picture of yourself (It doesnt have to be good!), or you can use a photograph. Draw a circle on the picture, where the healing is needed. Colour in the circle with the Blue pen so you have a Blue dot on the picture.

Stand the 3 Blue candles on top of the paper. Light the candles and repeat the following 3 times:

Healing be mine
Come to me, wash over me
Im feeling fine
So mote it be.  

Let the candles burn all the way down. Carry the piece of paper with you until healing has been recieved. When it has, burn the paper.

Items you will need:

Bay Leaves
Cinnamon
Rosemary
Orange Peel
Small Bowl for Mixing
Small Piece of Green cloth
Orange Thread

Write your request on the back of the the 3 bay leaves.

Put all your ingredients into the mixing bowl, break up the bay leaves and put them in. As you mix the ingredients with your finger tips, repeat the following chant 3 times:

Money flow
Money grow
Flow into my door
So i shall want no more
With harm to none, so mote it be.

Place your ingredients in the green cloth and tie with the orange thread. Hang it by your front door and give thanks to the Universe.
